Well, thanks then to your father too. I definitely admire his career. It astonishes me that we were able to put a man on the moon in the 1960's, in less than ten years after we set out to achieve the goal. If only our country had that kind of drive and unity nowadays!

I remember as a kid being very fascinated by the space shuttle and space travel in general. I loved sci-fi, and I really wanted to be an astronaut. My favorite shuttle was Atlantis. How fitting for me then that it was used for the final shuttle mission! Obviously my dream of becoming an astronaut never came true, but space travel still stirs me on a very deep level. The profoundness of leaving our world and seeing its beauty in a whole new way is something I hope everyday people like me get to experience someday.
